Herodotos
(c. 484 - c. 425 BCE)
Fifth Century BCE Greek known as the Father of History. The first Western author
to abandon the mythological narrative style for what we would call historical
narrative. Traveled widely and noted the vast differences in moral habits among
different people. He is widely known for his assertion in the
book The Histories, that "Custom
is the king of all."
