Inference

In Logic, the term ‘inference’ is used to designate the rationally connection that exists between the premises and conclusion of either a deductive or inductive argument.

A good metaphor to help you grasp an inference is from Chemistry. When you mix two substances together either something happens, or it does not. The something that happens is called a reaction. In Logic when you put two statements of the right kind together, or if you put them in the right order, you get a logical reaction.

An inference is the logical reaction between premises and conclusions.
