Internalism
In Epistemology, a family of justificatory thories which hold the locus
of belief justification to lie in the internal relations between
ideas.
There are two models of Internalism:
- Foundationalism - which
holds some beliefs are self-justifying and lend their justificatory status to other beliefs, and
- Coherentism - which holds
that beliefs are connected in a large web (or set of webs) of belief based on logical coherence.
