Particular

In Metaphysics, ‘particular’ is defined as “the many that stand under the one.”

A particular is an individual of a general class of things.

For example, my dog Kato is a particular (i.e., a specific individual thing), a member of the set of things that are dogs (Dog would be the universal of which Kato is a particular).

Opposite of universal.
