Realism

In Metaphysics, Realism is the position that claims universals have an independent ontological status (i.e., they exist in their own right).

Realists, like Plato, think of universals as things-in-themsleves: fully existing entities that do not require the cognition of some agent. Even if there was no one in the universe to think of them, they would still exist.

The opposite of Nominalism.
